A5. A BIG GIFT

It is always pleasant when I visit my uncle regularly.
A friendly person who always remains himself, never focused on the outside world.
He knows exactly what is happening in the world.
Together we see that too much has happened and is happening around us in a short period of time.
The 'sitting on each other's laps' is a new trend due to current politics, the one-sided media, the climate alarmists
and so much more. I see the sadness in his eyes. Very understandable.
The older generation fought for the Netherlands. Helped to rebuild the country.
Unfortunately, nothing of that remains. Even they now have to join the back row or have been forgotten. Under the guise of 'who are those people?'

When I am there, he forgets the (war) time of that time for a moment and we have a lot of fun together.
He always calls it JENs party. And enjoys it to the fullest.
He never answers the phone because he doesn't want to miss anything of my company.
We talk a lot. About politics, entrepreneurship, life, JENs KookFun🍯.
Very nice to understand each other neutrally and with respect.
Taking time for each other by listening makes it so inspiring. You learn so much from each other.
Logical thinking offers perspective, gives space.

I can enjoy people who have a healthy, pure approach to life.
It is a habit that I make a Dutch dish in JEN style, of course with a spicy bite.
Last week I spoke to him on the phone to make an appointment for today.
He was allowed to choose from a number for fun. Number 1 to 10. Each number had a different dish.
I heard him laugh, 'that's typical JEN style. I'm going for number 5'.
And indeed, SPICY SAUERKRAUT DISH is what he was hoping for.

Today is his day. Dutch food.
Whether it's summer, fall, winter or spring, a spicy sauerkraut JENs style always tastes good.
As he always calls it so beautifully 'JENs party'. He smiles from ear to ear.
I put the delicious SAUERKRAUT DISH that is left over, cooled in a sealable container in the fridge.
He is looking forward to enjoying it again tomorrow.
We drink delicious tea together afterwards and I greet my uncle 'see you next week'.
These are moments that I cherish and will never forget.
It's nice to be able to give a loved one a festive feeling. A great gift!
