Arriving in Greece I immediately felt at home. Something I rarely have.
From the first moment I received the warmth of my downstairs neighbors Maria and Babis, their friend Christos. 3 Golden people. Gold in every sense of the word for me.
From that moment on friends for life as family, true love!
Without transportation you notice how emasculated you are, so incredibly dependent.
There is no real supermarket for the daily groceries.
Babis takes good care of me, helps me with the groceries. He regularly gets bread for me. And if there is anything, he is there! I learn Greek words and I am still happy about that.
Practice makes perfect.
A special moment that I will never forget.
Celebrating my birthday alone felt like 'bare' without my family and friends.
Babis called me and said 'Evelyn, come downstairs'. No sooner said than done.
The three of us had a nice chat and they surprised me with a nice bottle of Prosecco for my 63rd birthday. It gave me a lump in my throat, so sweet!
The Mediterranean climate is doing me good. Finally breathing normally again.
Your restyled body feels healthier and more energetic. Wonderful!
Waking up in the morning from my bed with a view of the sea, a great gift.
Training in silence on the terrace at dawn, then enjoying an XXL coffee.
Nice and fresh and fruity exercise in the apartment. Through the daily ritual, cleaning and mopping. And towards the beach to put the rubbish in the container and a walk on the beach for dessert. Then JENs KookFun with a siesta in between.
After the delicious dinner I enjoy the sea view from my chair in the hallway.
Tomorrow I will go to the big local market with Babis, which I am really looking forward to.
The people, vegetables, potatoes, meat, fish and so much more make my heart melt. Tomorrow I will make the mouthwatering SALMON PASTA.
Being here feels like a warm bath, thanks to Maria and Babis and Christos.
