Celebrating Christmas with my brother Roland in Ljubljana, made a deep impression on me.
What conviviality and celebration!
We were immersed on arrival along the beautifully decorated and illuminated quay.
An aha-erlebnis by all the splendor at the restaurants, wine bars, stores and more.
Pit stops at some wine bars, tasting the amazing quality wines.
The next day, most celebrate Boxing Day with families and the streets will be fairly empty of passersby.
Hence, we walk straight into downtown to experience this.
After the great sights and pit stops, we unwrap gifts at Roland's home during each round of dishes.
Unwrapping gifts, feasting on Roland's dishes and blissful wines! 1st Christmas wonderful our togetherness.
2nd Christmas Day he has to work again. In the morning Hans and I stroll through the breathtaking city.
In the afternoon lunch at Rolands' restaurant and in the evening old-fashioned relaxed Netflix.
On his scarce day off, he showed us the ski resort of Maribor (half an hour from Ljubljana).
A tourist village but definitely worth having been there.
On the way back we passed the big store Le Marchè. How wonderful to spend time there.
You can buy a lot of everything, it is too much to mention. You can't think of anything else.
An afternoon of shopping in Le Marché does wonders. Of course also with our hobbies: wines, vegetables, meat & fish.
The wine department in so many varieties and flavors from various countries. And in the FOOD & MEAT department, you will find yourself salivating with your shopping cart among so many delicacies. A true delight for the throat!
If only we had such a store in our area! Back home, later in the evening, we feasted together on Rolands' skill, our top chef.
Christmas 2022 a super experience to never forget. After the fantastic days, it's time to go home!
